The current rise in foreclosures in San Francisco sets our story in motion as an unlikely “odd couple,” is thrown together.
The title, The Purple Onion, refers to one of the oldest venues for comedy in North America. Located in San Francisco since 1952, the club is famous for showcasing some of the most important American comedians from the early days of stand up comedy, including Lenny Bruce, Woody Allen and Phyllis Diller. On Sept 24th 2012, after nearly 60 years of operation, the The Purple Onion closed its doors for good.
